As a truck driver, looking at the scene in this picture makes me "afraid" of my job.
Not afraid in a bad way, rather in a way that makes me realize the responsibility I have whenever I get behind the wheel of that 18 wheeler.
I remember reading about the accident and wondering what the driver was thinking. He seemed to be someone who didn't really care about his life.
Here is another story to help us as truck drivers understand the kind of responsibilty we have.
Driving a large truck is one of the most dangerous jobs; more than 700 commercial drivers died on the job in 2013, according to Bloomberg. Drivers are exempt from federal overtime rules and are usually paid by the mile.
