As I mentioned in the previous post, one of the challenges I have is having clarity and being consistent.
I usually feel like I want to share about everything. Which is contrary to what the gurus advise.
I don’t think I can really niche down as narrowly as they advise but I’m going to try and focus on a few things.
To help me do that, I’m going to try and keep my focus on the Whole Man.
What is the whole man?
To help me explain that, we need to look to 1 Thess 5:23-24.
“Now may the God of peace make you holy in every way, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again.
God will make this happen, for he who calls you is faithful.” -NLT
I’m going to make Spirit, Soul & Body the main categories of what I share.
I have things that I want to share that I don’t seem to see how they will fit in these three categories. But I guess that is the point of niching down.
To help one let go of everything and focus on a few.
Now, I know that the Spirit and Body categories are kind of self explanatory. But what will the soul category cover?
Let’s just say the Soul category will cover everything else that doesn’t fall under Spirt or Body.
Since I want and plan to share about things to do with family, I will put those under the Soul category since the soul deals with the mind, intellect, reasoning and emotions.
If it sounds confusing don’t worry. We will figure it out as we go. I’m not yet cocksure too.
I’m just using the ready, go, set method. Not the ready, set, go. In other words, let’s start, we will work out the details on our way.
Keep it Short
Experts say google favors long content.
Well, I’m done trying to impress google. The more I try to follow the experts’ advise, the more I tend not to do anything. Which defeats the whole purpose.
My goal is going to be, to get to the point of what I want and need to say without worrying about the mechanics of everything like length, keywords and all that stuff.
I know this may not work well but it will help me show up, get clarity and be consistent.
No set schedule
Again, according to those who know better, you need a set schedule so that your audience knows exactly when to expect communication from you.
Well, that ain’t gonna work for me either.
Between being a husband, a father and a truck driver, I honestly don’t want to put myself under pressure to commit to a schedule.
And based on my own experience, I read, listen and watch a lot of communications from different people I admire BUT I don’t know when their publishing schedules are.
What usually gets my attention is the heading to their content. Which means I really need to work on learning how to craft well thought out headings
So, I will show up whenever I can. Day, time, how often? I can’t commit.
And for all that leading paragraph, meat of the post , conclusion stuff that I’m supposed to pay attention to,
I’m just not going to worry about it right now.
Until next time,
